THE HORROR By Jayme Reeves

Animosity is fleeting
Bleeding poverty through my veins
Devouring what they gave to me
Wash away these filthy stains
Society's being lead astray by the ones they've trusted most
Such barbaric statements pilled high with deaths and ghosts

Presidential masquerade's
Lost lives
Nothing saved

Candidates with promises
Two countries thrown with rage

These stains cover humanity
These stains bind us... one
These stains paint red our memories

Such stains will prove, no one won

WHAT I AM NOT By Jayme Reeves

I have never shined normally
Like the people we so adore

I have yet to know the feelings that accompany greatness
I never grabbed on to something meaningful

I have never glowed with triumph
I have never won an aiming crowd

I never been mistaken for a star
I do not project that certain glow

I do not shine normally
But I've sparkle the unknown
