Improvising. by Jane Druzhinina

Sweet talk, all that gibberish, those lazy lines, you breathe life
into them in a way only you know how.
I try to hold on to your thoughts as you're jumping subjects,
changing faces.
Your improvisations are abrupt but always catchy and I fall
victim to the ground beat and rhythm, to the wild conglomeration
of scattered sounds.
Now we're playing in duo.
Unmasking fears, letting the intimate show,
I follow my instincts and let my senses seek entity.
Temperatures rise in this heartburning disclaimer of reality, in this
seeming endless fiesta of the moment.
We'll never be strangers, of this I'm certain.

Those jazz days are far behind now, sounds no longer soar heights and
yet you...you still remain my greatest mystery.

Just like everybody else. by Jane Druzhinina

"Our mission?   We target issues that leave space for contradiction:
adverse social views, public protests, disobedience, derelicts".

My social awareness has me caught in a fighter jet I can't jump out of,
I take aim at everything that is not what it's supposed to be,
I fire at everyone who chooses to walk astray.

"No, you wouldn't be able to single me out in the crowd,
we war-soldiers are just like everybody else".

I've passed my curfews, my restrictions, my doubts and fears.
Yes, sir, I've dried those tears.
No more skeletons in the closet to expose me, to undermine my faulty
intentions, my imperfect identity, my crude irrelevance.
