Very First by Joseph Veronneau

Too young to know the difference-
I kissed you impassionately
as a six year-old.
Your boyish shorts
and t-shirt that rubbed off on me
like a cheap temporary tattoo.

I extracted meaning from
your coughs and yawns,
embraced times we almost touched
scavenging  the most from not much.

Bio: Joseph Veronneau has had poems appear in the following publications: Chiron Review,  Lily, Lunatic Chameleon, Zygote In My Coffee, Thieves Jargon, The Poetry Super Highway (Poet of the Week),  and many others.  He also runs Scintillating Publications, a chapbook publishing press. . www.freewebs.com/scintillatingpublications
