Anger by Ed Coet

With a poignant sense of regret
keenly felt to the core of my being.
Eliciting archaic emotions,
evoking a corrupt heart.

Summoning the latent potential
of all that is evil within.
Tempting rage with a
vehement desire to lash out.

Feeling internal hostility
with displeasing vexation.
Touching delicate and fragile sensitivities
accompanied by shattered sensibilities.

An inability to appreciate or respond
to aesthetic influences.
A grudging spite with
offending annoyance.

An intensive force influencing
restricted control.
Giving cause for my regret,
for guilt filled remorse.

Emerging from a cloud of confusion
and sometimes despair.
Oh yes, I understand;
I know anger
.
