Seems To Be So by Heather LeeAnn Lenz

I place you
in a golden frame
where you hold me always.

I put you on a pedestal
in my heart, where your smile rises
above all of the other faces
I remember.

I place you in my thoughts,
where you shine between
the broken words and small regrets.

I put you in the chores of all my days,
in the shadows of night-time dreams.

I have fallen into you;
or so it seems.

Lullaby by Heather LeeAnn Lenz

While near you, instinct tells me
to press against you and sigh,
take you into me and forget
times of death or loss
or weeping.

Blades of grass flood in darkness.
Rainfall wakens my thoughts and
I must have you, one more time
before I sleep.

Even if my body
has to rise against a dream,
and tremble in lonely bed-sheets.
