Lasting Felicity by Julie Kovacs
Freezing cold
body temperature dropping below normal
apathetic to tiny pinpricks from the sewing needle
stitching up a wounded heart and soul
forsaken through pyromancy
umbrage created reciprocation
nothing left emptiness and discord expunged
for a new commencement
permanent lease signed in blood
double doors opened wide into
a luminous world untouched by
human words thoughts actions
no animal footstep or breath
a bubble invisible to the naked eye
protection granted to anyone
courageous enough to enter
losing identity on the verge of the
unknown regaining identity after
surviving death and life no hesitation
to embrace love across the planes of existence
one more time not losing
the permanent grasp of hope.
